This thoughtfully designed project is situated in the charming Queens Park neighborhood, known for its historic heritage houses that stand as some of the oldest in the province. My goal was to create a home that harmonizes with the surrounding architectural styles while offering modern comforts and timeless elegance.
I designed a colonial-style home, featuring a square or rectangular facade with a central entrance and symmetrically placed windows on either side. The exterior was completed with hardy board siding and custom operational shutters, contributing to the home’s classic aesthetic.
Inside, vintage elements enhance the home’s character, such as tables from the 1800s repurposed as bathroom vanities. The kitchen nook table, crafted from 200-year-old barn wood sourced from Quebec, adds a touch of rustic charm to the space.
Tile selections throughout the home were carefully chosen to complement the overall style, ensuring a cohesive and visually appealing design. The main floor boasts a spacious, open-concept layout that still maintains a cozy atmosphere, perfect for family gatherings and entertaining.
Traditional plumbing fixtures in polished nickel bring a touch of elegance to both the kitchen and primary ensuite, blending seamlessly with the home’s overall design.
